Millberry copper scrap suppliers
Millberry suppliers are scrap yards, cable recyclers and exporters with a real yard and an export licence. Post it freeWhat a real millberry supplier looks like
Millberry is one of the most faked offers online. Real suppliers have a yard you can find: an address, machines, staff and stock. They export regularly, often in 20 ft containers, and know the ISRI (now ReMA) grade names. They will say whether the lot is Barley (bare bright) or Berry (No. 1 wire), not just "99.99%".
Their price is close to the LME, because clean bare bright wire is almost as good as cathode for a refinery or rod mill. Prices far below that are the first warning.
Documents and proof to ask for
- Video of the actual lot, with today's date and a sign with your company name
- Company registration and the yard address, which you can check on a map
- Export licence or permit for scrap in the seller's country
- Pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or a similar firm, with photos of loading
- Weight list, packing list and radiation check certificate
- For India, the pre-shipment inspection certificate (PSIC) that importers need
How to verify a millberry supplier
- Check the company in its official registry and look at the yard address on satellite maps.
- Do a reverse image search on the photos. Stolen photos are common.
- Ask for a video call from the yard, walking around the lot.
- Start with one container, inspected before loading. See trial orders.
- Search the names and numbers in the scam search, and run invoices or certificates through the document check.
Red flags
- Millberry at 30% to 50% below the LME
- A new website, free email address or a yard that is a house on the map
- Full payment by TT before loading, or a deposit to an account in another name or country
- Refusal of pre-shipment inspection
- "99.99%" claimed with no test

Questions people ask
What is millberry copper?
Millberry is a trade name for clean, bare, unalloyed copper wire scrap, usually 99% copper or better. It is close to the ISRI grades Barley (bare bright wire) and Berry (No. 1 copper wire). Ask the seller which grade they mean and test it.
How is millberry copper scrap priced?
As a percentage of the LME or a discount per tonne below it. Clean bare bright wire sells close to the LME. The grade, location, freight and payment terms move the price.
Who buys millberry copper scrap?
Copper refineries, rod mills, brass mills and scrap traders. India, China, South East Asia, South Korea and Japan are large markets. China only accepts copper scrap that meets its standard for recycled copper raw materials.
How do I know a copper scrap seller is real?
Check the company in its official registry, look at the yard on a map, and ask for a live video of the actual lot. Use pre-shipment inspection and start with one container. A price far below the LME and a demand for full payment before loading are the most common scam signs.
Is millberry 99.99% real?
Clean bare bright wire can be very pure, but scrap is not certified like cathode, and many offers that say 99.99% are untested or fake. Ask for an independent assay and inspection. Treat the number as a claim until it is tested.
What documents do I need to import copper scrap into India?
Indian importers of metal scrap need a pre-shipment inspection certificate (PSIC) from an approved inspection agency, along with the bill of lading, invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. Check the current rules with your customs agent, as they can change.
