How we deal with each other
1No fees before delivery
Nobody on Copper Supply asks for, or pays, any brokerage fee, commission, registration, allocation, processing or "release" fee before the goods are delivered and paid for. Commission is protected in an IMFPA and paid after delivery, by the side that agreed to pay it.
"The contract only becomes operative once the buyer wires the brokerage fee."
"My commission is set out in the IMFPA and paid by the seller after delivery."
2No bribes, no payments to anyone's staff
Never offer, ask for or arrange money for another company's employees, a buyer's procurement team or any official. It doesn't matter who suggests it. If someone asks you to, say no and tell us.
"I need commission from the seller for the buyer's staff."
"We don't pay staff. Any commission goes in the IMFPA, in the company's name."
3Keep the conversation on Copper Supply
Phone numbers, email addresses and WhatsApp, Telegram or WeChat contacts are blocked in messages and introductions. The deal room keeps every document and message in one place, which is what protects both sides if something goes wrong.
4Be who you say you are
One account per person, in your own name. Say plainly who you represent and whether you are the principal, a mandate or a broker. If you can't name your principal yet, say so.
5Only post what is real
List copper you hold or can show a mandate for, and requirements you can actually pay for. Don't forward offers or documents you can't stand behind, and never post forged, altered or recycled SKRs, SPAs or COAs.
6Declare your commission early
If you are earning a commission, say so before documents are exchanged, and agree it in writing. Surprises at the end kill deals.
7Be professional
Reply to introductions and messages, even when the answer is no. No pressure tactics, no spam, no copy-paste blasts and no rudeness. Keep other members' details and terms confidential.
8Report what looks wrong
If someone asks you for money upfront, offers a bribe or sends documents that don't add up, report it from their profile or the chat. Our team reads every report.
Messages are screened as they are sent. Breaking these rules gets your account closed and your name, ID name, email and phone number put on our block list. A reinstated account is on a warning for 4 weeks, and a second breach closes it for good.
The full legal wording is in section 10 of our terms.
